Rose Parade
January 1, 2010 two beautiful flower bedecked automobiles from the Nethercutt Collection participated in the 2010 Rose Parade. Grand Marshall was Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, hero pilot of the U. S. Airways New York Hudson river landing. Sullenberger (who saved over 150 passengers & crew) and his wife Lori were driven by Jack & Helen Nethercutt in our 1927 Pierce-Arrow model 36, 7-passenger Touring.
The 1912 Alco 7-passenger Touring was driven by Travis Richards & family and was joined by three 2010 Rose Bowl Hall of Fame inductees; Brad Budde, USC, Hayden Fry, Iowa and LeRoy Keyes, Purdue.
Rose Parade
January 1, 2009 we participated in the Tournament of Roses Parade with two Nethercutt Collection cars; the 1932 Chrysler Custom Imperial Convertible Sedan and the 1933 Pierce-Arrow Model 1242 Seven Passenger Touring. Both cars were lavishly decorated with fresh flowers and were used to transport Tournament of Roses VIP’s. The Chrysler and The Pierce-Arrow were driven by Nethercutt employees Alex Prosser and David Varn Hagen. Their passengers were family and friends of Grand Marshall, entertainer/actress Cloris Leachman.
Rose Parade
On January 1, 2008, two highly decorated automobiles from The Nethercutt Collection were driven in Pasadena’s annual Rose Parade.
Staged every year since 1890, this was the 119th Annual Rose Parade and the second consecutive year that The Nethercutt Collection has been invited to drive the dignitaries. The Parade is 5.5 miles in length and takes more than 2½ hours to complete — a real test for automobiles nearly 100 years old.
Amelia Island
The Nethercutt Collection attended the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance with three cars from the Collection. The cars were enthusiastically accepted by the public as three of the most unusual cars attending the event. The 1904 Cameron is a beautifully restored 3 cylinder air-cooled automobile over 110 years old, The 1914 American Underslung is a product of Indianapolis, Indiana and is one of the most innovative & stylish cars of the Antique era. The 1958 Vespa 400 "Jolly'" is a one-off tribute to the famous Fiat Jolly "Ghia built" cars of the 1950's.
